Bolleaux to your gatooks!

It's not Sunday, but I got mixed up with my days and Sunday Shitposting doesn't answer to the laws of linear time, it's a state of mind! To that end, while sorting through some files, I found some mildly amusing reviews of a Black Forest gateau on Shamansburys' website, not quite on a par with the Amazon reviews of various ouija boards circa Spring 2016 (one that's written on my heart forever is "I bought this ouija board now George Michael won't leave me alone ffs"), but you've got to get your kicks where you can nowadays. This effort mainly resulted from a discussion about that Chewin' the Fat sketch, wherein Greg Hemphill referred to a gateau as a "gatooks", which is a lot of fun to say and it has legitimately been one of my favourite things for the past few weeks (it's up there with Hologram Farkas and jayperpapoes!) Shall we have a see what the good people have to say about this gateau, then?

First off, someone felt compelled to write a Mills 'n' Boon about it. To be fair, "a cake of excellent character" is a really enjoyable phrase.

This one, meanwhile, reminded me of an episode of Cheapshow - can't remember specifically which one it was, but Eli was chanting "Too much biscuit, not enough cream!" Also, "nice cherries" sounds a bit saucy.

The cream comes under fire again as someone is fair ragin' about the lack of sponge...

And this person's had a cake from the sky, which raises more questions than it answers, really.

"Any excuse to celebrate is always ended with this cake" - I understand what they're getting at, but it kind of sound like everyone's having a brilliant time, then this cake gets brought out and the mood just dies on its arse immediately. Such is the power of the gatooks.
