Local cryptid: The Pube Burner Race Car
This majestic creature was about in late summer of 2017, according to the file properties, and this beauty was only about briefly, a couple of weeks at most. It's a little Ford that I would often pass by on my way to doing some volunteer work at the time, and at one point, I actually remembered to take the camera out and nab some pictures. At one point, it had "EAT MY ASS" sprayed across the rear bumper in big red letters, but that was covered over before I was able to get a photo - tragedy! There are still wonders to be found here, though. Let's take a look...
Starting with this side view, we're treated to the beauty of its fluorescent painted rims, some powerful flames and just in case anyone was in any doubt, yes, it's definitely a race car. Not quite on a par with the WRC Subaru Impreza livery (not at liberty to state how much time I sank into Colin McRae Rally on the PS1 back in the day...), but that's all part of its charm. You can also just about make out the black paint on the back here.
Note the nice number on the hood, SPEED MUNTERS written across the top of the windscreen and the sassy eyeshadow on the headlights. Fabulous, dahling! Also the neatly defined stripes are very pleasing. It makes me wonder what the story was here; it would've been a hoot to be a fly on the wall while this work of art was being created.
Something I have only just noticed now, upon hunting up these pictures to post, is "Nostrildamus couldn't stop me", brilliant stuff. The window by the back seat there has some names on it; there's ALAN, Richard, Simon and a couple others that I can't make out.
This was parked near to a garage, so maybe it was there to be fixed up and when it disappeared, it went on to further adventures (I would love to imagine that the Pube Burner is still out there somewhere), or maybe it was there to be tragically reduced to the state of a regular old car. Who knows.
