Cats, vol. 15: Shock and Awe

Image
It's Wednesday and that means more cats, probably the last lot for a while because I ran out of steam some time ago (this post has been scheduled since August) and even prior to that, ran into issues with finding weird cat ornaments that were amusing enough to warrant being included here. So potentially to finish up with, in this week's roundup, these lads have Seen Some Shit . This one made me do a double take but in the interest of clarity, that's a  flower . This one is kind of in the liminal space between genuinely pleasant and a bit odd; the thing that makes it feel a bit unsettling is all the cats, staring in unison, with their shifty expressions - it's a bit "One of us! One of us! " This one, likewise, I kind of vacillate between thinking it's genuinely cute and a bit off-putting. It's a bit of both, so fair play to this lad for having range. Meanwhile this geezer looks like he's in a trailer for a horror film. Saving the best 'til last,...

Cats, vol. 14

Wednesday is upon us once again and of course, it's time for more cats. I mentioned recently(ish) that the long-necked cats felt a bit low-hanging fruit, and was making concerted efforts to find weird cat ornaments of a different persuasion, but there are quite a few length-cats here just because they genuinely amused me. Let's have a look... Some of these offered additional amusement with the titles of the listings. Honestly can't argue with that assessment there, it's very accurate. Likewise with this one. It was the vast abundance of shifty eyes on this lot that made me laugh. These two feel like they should be accompanied by the music from the UFO ending in Silent Hill 2, frankly. And now, it's time for a palate cleanser. Here we have another lengthy cat, but this one's a real charmer. Just so precious!

Another day, another cross-stitch...

For today, we have a Janlynn kit from the '90s, which I did as a little breather project after finishing something that took far longer than expected. I framed this one earlier today seeing as it's been hung up to dry all week and I needed the octopus to dry some socks (rock 'n' roll, I know!) Also still in the process of re-organising this room, so here it is for now next to a highly relatable Joe Lycett print, on top of the chest of drawers. I'll work out somewhere more salubrious for it to sit some other time.

Recent encounters: Wrecked shithouse! Hay spider! Hat!

There's been a bit of inactivity this week (barring the Cats post, but those have been scheduled since August) because I've been ill, knackered and busy. Still a bit under the weather but sod it, it's time to catch up with some photos, starting with this free-range shitter, which has ironically been absolutely shittered . Heading up the 108 Steps yielded some sunflowers, noseying over the wall at the back of the church... And a little look over Sparrow Park, just because I like this area, it's very pleasant, even on a dreary day. A sign looking to reunite someone with their lost hat... Now stepping things up a bit with this newly discovered cryptid - the hay spider! There's been quite a few of these about lately, one of them blew off in a strong wind before I could get a picture of it, but here's evidence. They're out there! Keep watching the... pavement, I suppose. Also noticed this squirrel! Nearly wound up late for work because I was chillin' on a ben...

Oh good neet friends one and all, I'm just out to make a call for I live to see a crowd of baffling faces (Cats, vol. 13)

( That might be a bit of a niche reference , but still I stand by it.) As per usual, I didn't set out for this post to have a specific theme, other than weird cat ornaments, but this lot have some more interesting facial expressions in store for us. This first one has a strong "Take me to your leader!" mood about it. Meanwhile this one looks like it's seen something and can't work out whether or not it's socially acceptable to laugh (very relatable.)   This is another of those ones that is quite charming, but still odd enough to warrant inclusion. This one, however, should be on a fucking register. And I reckon this lad 'ere has just been on some really good shit. Anyway, now it's time for a palate cleanser. Just so precious!
