Giglamps rambles

Nothing particularly salubrious, but still, I have been drawing things, and here's a small fraction of them. Also, Blogger appears to be making images really fuzzy - bastard. If you're feeling patient, it's a bit of a faff but right clicking on the images and going on "Open image in new tab", you can see them in better quality that way. Not sure if it's noticeable to anyone else but I spent however long working on this stuff, I know how the texture is meant to look, and these images on this post have softened all my coarseness - we can't have that. Catching up with some more pictures today, from a couple of morning walks on different days. I haven't been taking quite as many photos this week because I slipped on some ice, bashed up my arm pretty badly - not ideal. It didn't hurt much in the moment but once I got home and sat down with a cup of tea, then it started absolutely hurting like hell, it's been a bastard ever since and fiddling with the camera just exacerbates it. Ugh . Anyway, here are some pictures from the sunnier of the days... And now, onto the pictures from the moodier morning. And that's that for today, down a ginnel that leads to a grass verge with some houses at a 90 degree angle from the rest and a little garden cordoned off by a drystone wall across the way from said houses, there's this wheelbarrow here. Not quite a spiritual successor to the Wheelbarrow of the Beast but I'll take what I can get at this point.

Slightly early but happy Year of the Horse, everyone! To mark the occasion, there was a parade through the town centre today, with a vibrant performance by Conundrum , this big, zesty dragon and various zodiac animal floats. We finally got some proper sunshine as well - it's been my favourite kind of day, bright but cold, top job all 'round. There was a big energetic horse float accompanying this banner, but it was partly obscured and I couldn't get a decent picture of it. This snake though, just so precious. Loving the appropriately elegant fabric to support this majestic tiger. After the parade had gone by, I decided to wander 'round town and soak up the atmosphere for a bit; there was a bloke playing some tunes on a steel drum, which was very pleasant, but the lure of the back streets was strong, so I went round there for a bit, to have a bit more of a play around with Icaras, my new camera.
